Baren is a tool for rubbing a paper on the woodblocks.
To make a baren, barks of bamboos are used. First, the tough parts of barks’ roots are split and torn to shreds and then woven into ropes. The core of a baren is made of the ropes which are coiled up and then it is wrapped up with bamboo barks.
