Gold and silver foil (Kinginhaku)
Gold or silver foil is cut into squares with a bamboo knife and these foils are named ‘cut foil’ (kirihaku). These foil squares are sorted out according to sizes.
Sunago is sand-like foils which are sifted through a sieve and sizes depend on the squares of a sieve, which span from very minute foils to rough ones.
